about

Based in Newcastle upon Tyne, but with most members hailing from Teeside, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaind came together in 2010 when Bruce Hobson, Shaun Danielson and Graham Thompson of the band Helios added Jonathan Waters to their line up and decided on a name change. With Shaun moving over to second guitar and Jon taking up bass duties, the band focused on utilising the strengths of a two guitar line up.

Over the course of their 9 years tenure, the band would produce several recordings and releases, most recently was their self-titled 4 track 7’ which was released via Serlal Bowl Records. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaind played a modest number of gigs, some with bands of note including Mclusky, Dag Nasty, Messthetics, And None of Them Knew They Were Robots and more.

In the summer of 2022 Serial Bowl Records will release their posthumous debut album, 'I’ll Decide’.
Recording began for this was completed after their demise, with all members of the band still close friends and in regular contact. JFH would describe songs as ‘rockers’ and ‘reflectors’, I’ll Decide has an even spread of both and shows the bands attention to their craft with dense, distorted riffs accompanied by awkward, staccato beats as well as slow, dynamic numbers with an eye for melody and counter melody. An album that incorporates chord changes, stop and start emotive post-punk that has Slint, Chevez and Drive Like Jehu embedded in its sound
